| Zivjo
and welcome to the slovenian site. I am quite sure that there are two types
of visitors reading this right now: Either you know Slovenia really good
(because you are Slovenian yourself) or you have no idea, what or where
Slovenia is! Well, let me tell you that this site is dedicated to a country
I learned to love, simply because I never found a many-sided country like
it. And without loosing a lot of words, just look what I mean. Slovenia
has got something for every kind of traveler... |

...
for cultur-freaks and city-travelers
Ljubljana is
not only the capital and biggest city in Slovenia but also combines history,
cultur and, with its river flowing through it, a touch of a southern city.
The castle on the top of the hill is definitely worth a look (even if
you have to earn it by walking up) and the area around the three bridges
is especially in summertime a great place to chill out. The old village
is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen and some markets are really
great.

...
for those enjoying sun
The cities on
the coast, Izola, Piran and Portoroz, are ideal for those you admire the
sun and everything else what makes a beach vacation. Although the beaches
are nicer further south, the small coastline of Slovenia provides everything
just two hours away from the snowy mountains.

...
for natur-girls and -boys
Slovenia is
very green and has sunny beaches, snowy mountains and green hills and
fields. Perfect for those who enjoy walking offside the big traffic tracks.
For those who like to see some really fascinating creations of mother
natur, go the two famous caves, the Postojna jama and the skocjanske jama.
The first is one of the most beautiful stalactite cave you've ever seen,
the other (picture) one of the biggest cave (in size) you've ever visited.
Both are just about an hour away from Ljubljana.

...
for animal lovers
Ever saw a white
horse? Well, sure you did and maybe it was one of Lipica. The stud farm
at Lipica is maybe not as large as in the United States, but worth a visit
anyway. And even if you are not a horse lover, you sure have a girlfriend,
wife or girl who would do everything if you go there.

...
for romantics
Bled is one
of the most romantic places of Europe and this is not just because of
one big lake with an island in it. Did you know that that beautiful lake
is located in the middle of the mountains and there are no motorboats
allowed on it? And that you can ring the bell of the church on the island
yourself? And - if you do so - your wish is becoming true?

...
for epicures
Lasko is maybe
not a good place for tourists since there is no major attraction to find,
but for all those who just like to chill out, this is the place to be.
Not only has Lasko its own beer brewery (with damn good beer), they've
also got a pretty nice spa. And even if you neither like beer nor bathing,
just have a great meal in the castle. And - there are just locals and
epicures - no tourists!
